Paul Wahl/ChieftainCheryl Parker of Wallowa exhibited the colorful work of Anna Gillmore’s “Dresden Plate” quilt at Saturday’s 25th annual Quilt Show at Joseph Charter School. The quilt was made as a wedding gift for Parker’s parents and was finished in 2014 in time for their 60th wedding anniversary.

She was an avid quilter and supporter of the Wallowa Mountain Quilters Guild.Linda was born October 5, 1947, in Walla Walla, Wash., to the late William and Shirley Boschee. She and her sister Jenice (Boschee) Gibson attended grade schools in Pilot Rock, Ore., and graduated from McLoughlin Union High School in Milton-Freewater. She earned a certificate in bookkeeping from Kinman Business Institute in Spokane, Wash.In 1966, she married Ernie Knifong in Milton-Freewater, Ore. They had two sons, Michael (deceased) and Kenneth. They then moved to Enterprise, Ore. Linda was the bookkeeper for the family business of Ern’s Electric until the time of their divorce. She then ran her own janitorial business, Star Janitorial.
