Add a dog and the walk is a ton of fun. The “Miles for Mammograms” walk around Iwetemlaykin Heritage Park outside of Joseph, part of the Tough Enough to Wear Pink events at the 2018 Chief Joseph Days Rodeo, might have been called Smiles for Mammograms as 20 dogs joined their owners. Dog entry fees went to support the Wallowa County Humane Society. Puppies raised $100 for their kind.

The Wallowa Valley Healthcare Foundation threw its support behind the event after the decision was made to combine the Amy Hafer Race for Awareness with the Miles for Mammograms walk. The foundation provided food and beverages for the after-hike refreshment.
