The race to the finish line to determine the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo Queen for 2018 is in full swing and both candidates anticipate the April 14 crowning ceremony.
Rylee Goller and Deidre Schreiber competed in a public speaking contest Feb. 28 in front of the Rotary Club of Wallowa County. Each contestant spoke about the Justin Sports Medicine Program, which provides comprehensive medical care to rodeo athletes at more than 150 events across the country, including Chief Joseph Days Rodeo.
The judge’s tallies will be used in part to determine who becomes queen.
The annual Glitz and Glam event will be Sunday, March 11, at Joseph Community Center. The event provides a sneak peak at what this year’s ladies and their equine partners will be outfitted in. A variety of vendors across Wallowa County and around the Northwest provide everything from clothing to tack.
The event will be held at the rodeo grounds, 405 West Wallowa Ave., Joseph. The public is invited.
