A number of Chief Joseph Days signature events require signup in advance.
Wallowa Valley Health Care Foundation has decided to join with Chief Joseph Days’ Tough Enough to Wear Pink and their breast cancer awareness walk and fundraiser, Miles for Mammograms.
This event will replace the annual Amy Hafer Race for Awareness, which took place the fourth Saturday of June at Wallowa Memorial Hospital.
Miles for Mammograms is 9 a.m. July 26. Registration begins at 8 a,n, The fun walk/run starts and finishes at Harley Tucker Memorial Arena one block west of Main Street in Joseph.
Food, drinks and drawings in the Thunder Room immediately following. Bring your dog along for an extra $5, proceeds go to Wallowa County Humane Society.
Registration includes a t-shirt and ticket to Thursday night’s Tough Enough to Wear Pink rodeo performance.

The theme for the 73rd annual Chief Joseph Days Grand Parade is “Strolling Thru the Mountain View” to be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28.
Parade numbers will be assigned through pre-registration generally in the order in which they are received. Entries are due no later than July 13
Between 8:30 & 9:30am on parade day, entries must check in and pick up a number at the corner of 3rd and Lake Streets (Methodist Church). You will be directed to your line-up area.
The parade begins at the intersection of 4th and Main.
Judging will be completed during the parade. Parade results will be available at the Chief Joseph Days Rodeo Office in Joseph after 1 p.m. Ribbons will not be mailed.
No candy or other objects can be thrown from floats or vehicles. However, you may hand-deliver candy while walking alongside parade vehicles.

The Chief Joseph Days Junior Parade will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 27 beginning at the Indian Lodge Motel and heading north down Main Street.
The top three places win cash prizes in seven categories, ranging from $5 to $15, while the grand prize entry will win a bicycle donated by Coca Cola Distributing. All the kids in the parade receive a free ice cream cone certificate from R&R Drive-In. No one older than 15 may enter. No licensed motorized vehicle unless operated by contestant.
Onsite registration will be held behind the Indian Lodge 9 a.m. the morning of the parade.
